Sized at 112m², it is a big space to work with. The challenge is to strike a balance between the spaciousness and the effective use of space to create proportion that looks aesthetic.

An overall clean and white look helps in creating a spacious impression. To further expand the visual sense of the living room, the common bedroom wall was knocked down and integrated into the space as a study corner. Another thing to consider is how the combination of wall, ceiling and floor must add up to something that will look distinct without being a boring blend of feature devoid of any character.

Before & after space planning of layout.

The decorations are all placed on open shelves instead of having bulky display cabinets to create an elevated feel to the overall theme.
A customized white mantle piece is fabricated for the homeowners to place their daily belongings.

A black marbled piece entirely made of on-site workmanship is featured near the dining area as a center piece of the room. The striking streak and color of the black marble stands out as a focal piece in the entire living room. The chosen finishing for the kitchen cabinet finishing are Steel JHS216C from Admira and Costa Nogal Horizontal WY1247D from Lamitak to create a texture contrast between the two finishing.

Horizontally placed white subway tiles are used to visually create an elongated sense to the overall feel of the bathroom. Black fittings and decors are then matched with the tiles to enhance the contrasting feel between the two colors. Grey wood tiles are also chosen to pair with the color of the vinyl flooring in the master bedroom to create a seamless joint between the two finishing.

Herringbone vinyl flooring are chosen from Floor Xpert’s catalog to create a distinctive V shaped weaving pattern, creating a dissimilarity against the white walls and finishing in the room.

A walk-in wardrobe was created by combining the master bedroom and common bedroom that flows seamlessly between the two spaces. The placement of the L-shaped wardrobe helps to act as a privacy shield against the external wall between the bedroom and the living space. This kind of layout will fulfill the owner’s wish of an walk-in wardrobe without it being cramped and looking dis-proportioned.
